Spring Awakening
TYLER EHRLICH (Piano) is a sophomore at Cornell University in the College of Arts and Sciences. Spring Awakening marks his fourth production with the MTC, having previously served as Orchestra Director for Rent, Little Women: The Musical, and Dirty Rotten Scoundrels. As a clarinetist, Tyler performs with the Cornell University Wind Ensemble and Symphony Orchestra. He is in the studio of Lenora Schneller and studies conducting with Professor Cynthia Johnston Turner. Tyler is also the teaching assistant for the Cornell University Wind Symphony, where he assists in conducting both rehearsals and concerts. He would like to thank his family and friends for their constant support, and his past and present music teachers for all they have taught him.
JACK REEP (Guitar I) is a Junior at Cornell University with a major in Psychology. This will be his second show with the MTC, and he's excited to be on board. Jack is vice president for the CU Jazz organization, and he loves community activities, especially when they're music-related. He would like to pay his respects and thanks to Paul and Steve: his awesome mentors in Ithaca.
ADELAIDE McDONNELL (Assistant Orchestra Director, Guitar II) is a junior at Cornell University majoring in Music. This is her second production with MTC. Previous credits include Keyboard II/Guitar II in Rent last semester, as well as Chorus in Aida and Chicago in high school. Adelaide plays saxophone, is actively involved in Cornell University's Wind Symphony, and is a member of Jazz Vocals, a CU ROSE ensemble. She is very excited to be able to play in Spring Awakening, and would like to thank her brother for lending her his guitar again.
MORIAH SON (Violin) is currently a sophomore at Cornell University studying violin with Ms. Christine Kwak. Moriah began her musical career playing the piano at age four but continued her musical studies on to the violin at age eight. In 2003, she was accepted into the Pre-College Division of The Juilliard School and has since won prizes in competitions at the YWCA, the NSSO, and the Flushing Young Artist Competition. Moriah has also performed solo recitals at Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall, Paul Hall at The Juilliard School, and other venues.
MALLORY STELLATO (Viola) is a freshman, studying Biology and Society in the College of Human Ecology at Cornell University. She was a very active musician in high school, participating in various youth orchestras, summer programs, and annual festivals. Mallory has also performed in several pit orchestras, including those for Fiddler on the Roof, Beauty and the Beast, and Phantom of the Opera, and she currently plays viola in the Cornell Chamber Orchestra under the direction of Chris Kim. Mallory is thrilled to be performing in her first MTC production and would like to thank her family, friends, and music teachers for their support and guidance over the years.
HARRIS KARSCH (Cello) is a sophomore in Cornell University's Engineering College, double majoring in Engineering Physics and Computer Science, and minoring in music. He has played cello since 3rd grade, and currently is in the Cornell Symphony Orchestra and studies with John Haines-Eitzen. Last year, he played in the pit orchestra for a student production of Trial by Jury, and in high school played for Pippen and Anything Goes.
ZAC MANCHESTER (Bass) is a second-year graduate student in aerospace engineering at Cornell University. Most days, he can be found in the lab working on tiny spacecraft for his PhD research. This is his second show playing bass for the MTC. He has also played bass in the Cornell jazz bands for five years.
ANDY STAWASZ (Percussion) is a Cornell freshman from Corning, New York majoring in Industrial and Labor Relations with intended minors in Music and Philosophy. Andy is currently a member of the Cornell Wind Ensemble, Cornell Gamelan Ensemble, and his own Cornell-based band: 3Unit. He has participated in orchestra pits in high school productions of Titanic: The Musical, Peter Pan, and Oklahoma!, and is very excited to start working with the MTC! Break a leg, everyone!
