JEREMY WEISER (Piano) is a freshman Arts and Science student at Cornell University and is excited to be part of his first MTC production. Jeremy started studying piano in 1st grade and has since developed as a classical musician, playing with his high school’s orchestra and in various competitions, master classes, and regional recitals. Interested in musical theatre from a young age, Jeremy became involved as a pianist for his high school’s productions of Assassins and The Producers. At Cornell, he currently studies classical piano with Mike Lee and plays intramural and club tennis. In addition to his love of the piano, he is interested in studying Spanish and Animal Biology. He would like to thank his friends and family for their support!
CHRIS PEÑA (Reed I) is a freshman Clarinet Performance/Music Education major at Ithaca College. As a clarinetist, Chris has performed with various ensembles throughout New Jersey, including the Region Band, All-State Wind Ensemble and Orchestra, and the All-Eastern Band. This is Chris’ first time performing with the MTC, and he is looking forward to being a part of a great show. He would like to thank his family and friends for their never-ending support.
CANDACE CRAWFORD (Reed II)
SAM THURSTON (Trumpet) is a sophomore at Ithaca College, studying Trumpet Performance and Music Education. Sam currently plays in the Ithaca College Wind Ensemble, South Hill Brass Quintet, and Ithaca College Jazz Lab Band. Involved in the musical theatre scene as well, Sam has played for shows including Kiss Me Kate, The Pirates of Penzance, Thoroughly Modern Millie, How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying, Seussical, Once Upon a Mattress, Company, and Chicago.
SONDRA THORN (Trombone) is a senior Music Education major at Ithaca College. She is currently a member of the Ithaca College Concert Band and the Ithaca College Trombone Troupe. Most recently she performed in the stage production L'Orfeo at Ithaca College. She is very excited for her first production with the MTC!
USHA RAO (Violin I) is a senior Biology major at Cornell University. She last played for the MTC's production of Dirty Rotten Scoundrels. She has also played in the orchestra for Annie, Once Upon A Mattress, Guys and Dolls and Oklahoma! at her high school. Usha is a member of the Cornell Chamber Orchestra and likes to play Indian classical music in her spare time.
BARBARA BAI (Violin II) is currently celebrating her fifteenth year as a musician, which started with private lessons on piano and joining the school orchestra in the third grade on violin. Solo work brought her as far as sixth grade when she moved to a Blue Ribbon school district and suddenly found her math homework to be much more absorbing. She could never let go of the orchestra community, though, participating over the years in the Rutgers Youth Orchestra, Rutgers Philharmonia, Central Jersey Region, New Jersey Allstate and eventually in both the Cornell Symphony and Chamber Orchestras. Past pit credits include productions by the East Brunswick Drama Club of The Music Man, The Mystery of Edwin Drood, and Pirates of Penzance. Barbara will graduate in 2012 with a Bachelor of Art in Mathematics and Physics.
CLAIRE STRAUS (Viola) is a freshman in the College of Arts and Sciences at Cornell University. She has played in several musicals in high school and is now a member of the Cornell Symphony Orchestra. This will be her first MTC production, and she is very excited to be working with such a great cast and crew!
JACQUELINE GEORGIS (Cello) is a sophomore at the School of Music at Ithaca College, majoring in Cello Performance with minors in French and the Honors Program. She is very excited for her first production with the MTC!
MICHAEL LADOUCEUR (Bass) is a sophomore at Ithaca College. He is an involved bassist and is excited to be playing in his first MTC production. Michael also enjoys writing music for student films and hopes to attend graduate school for film scoring. He would like to thank his family for supporting him in pursuing his interest in music and allowing him the opportunity to study it at school.
MATT BEVAN-PERKINS (Percussion) is a freshman Music Education major at Ithaca College, originally from Rochester, NY. Matt enjoys playing in pit orchestras and has done so in SUNY Cortland's production of Kiss Me Kate as well as productions such as Seussical, Bye, Bye Birdie, and Thoroughly Modern Millie. In addition to musicals, Matt plays in jazz groups both in Ithaca and in Rochester, as well as in the Ithaca College Symphonic Band and Percussion Ensemble. Matt would like to thank the MTC for the opportunity to play in this show.
